Côté Gold participates in 2024 Mattagami Beaverfest

Earlier in May, Côté Gold sponsored and participated in Beaverfest 2024, held at Mattagami First Nation. Organized by the Mattagami Fur Council and the Mattagami Lands and Resources Department, this annual festival has been a community staple since 1991.

The event provided an enriching experience for young people in and around the community to learn about animal trapping and other traditional activities from local trappers. The day included skinning and harvesting demonstrations, a feast of wild game and current dishes, and live entertainment that celebrated the rich heritage of the Indigenous Communities in the region.
