Mining Games Team
April 9, 2025
We are proud to have supported two teams of future mining professionals recently as they competed with their peers from across Canada and around the world.
In February the Laurentian University Mine Rescue Team had the opportunity to compete against eight other top teams from around the world at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado.
Challenges included underground and maze problems as well as rope rescue and firefighting training.
Everyone on the team was proud of the professionalism and quality of work they achieved together and are already looking forward to next year’s challenges!
In March we supported the team of 16 Laurentian University students who competed in Quebec City at the Canadian Mining Games.
This was an important milestone for Côté Gold, as it showcased our commitment to supporting emerging talent and promoting a strong partnership with Laurentian University.
Despite facing many challenges with a cancelled flight and travel delays due to weather, the Laurentian team displayed resilience and dedication.
They took first place in the Jackleg and Mineral Processing competitions, second place in Sustainable Development and third place in Mineral Economics and Open Mine Design.
