Côté Gold strives to create and nurture long-lasting partnerships with the communities in which we operate and encourage our contractors to develop relationships with our Indigenous and local community partners.
At the end of January, we welcomed George Pirie, Ontario’s Minister of Mines, and Chief Murray Ray of Flying Post First Nation, for a tour of Côté Gold.
Aligning our business goals with the long-term interests of our communities, through engagement and partnership, is essential to our future success.

Earlier this fall, we welcomed David Piccini, Ontario’s Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks to Côté for a tour of the site and an update on construction progress.
We were extremely pleased to see the Mattagami First Nation fish hatchery project featured in the fall newsletter of the Mining Association of Canada.
Project is 64% complete! As of the end of September, construction of the Côté project was approximately 64% complete and advancing well following the schedule and cost update released in the summer.
We believe our presence should leave a lasting positive impact on our communities. We do this through active consultation, engaged partnerships, mutual respect, and community investments.

As of June 30, 2022, overall, the project was approximately 57% complete, with detailed engineering nearly complete at approximately 99%.
Building close partnerships with our host communities and the Indigenous communities impacted by our activities is an integral part of IAMGOLD’s commitment to accountable mining and sustainable development.
In honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Flying Post Camp & Logistics prepared a dinner menu of traditional foods for our on-site workforce.
IAMGOLD is proud to partner with Indspire — an Indigenous national charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit and Métis people — on the launch of two post-secondary scholarship programs for students of Mattagami First Nation, Flying Post First Nation and the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Region 3.

The 4M canoe route passes through the Côté Gold property and IAMGOLD is maintaining access to the route, including portages. To ensure safe passage, anyone wanting to access must submit a request.
